We are currently seeking applications for a Marketing Manager (Education) within the Food Standards Scotland based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Are you a creative individual with experience of developing campaigns and initiatives to educate and engage consumers and especially young people on food related issues? Food Standards Scotland is a changing organisation with big ambitions to help shift Scotland's diet – and that starts with education. We have an opportunity to work in our growing, ambitious communications and marketing team to help tackle one of the most difficult issues facing Scotland – the health of our nation.

Reporting to the Head Marketing and Publications, you will work collaboratively across the wider organisation to develop and enhance the FSS education offering (Feeding Minds), ensuring it is fit for purpose and aligned to the needs of the sector and complimentary to the curriculum for excellence. You will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing integrated marketing programs targeting education providers, as well as wider community based groups and organisations to increase awareness, drive demand and levels of engagement in line with FSS strategic objectives. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and the new entrant would normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Do you have excellent communication skills with experience in problem solving? Can you demonstrate strong planning and organisation skills, while prioritising workloads to meet deadlines? Qualifications Required
CIM (or similar) qualification or would be willing to work towards one.

Essential Criteria
1. A 'can do' attitude and ability to take the initiative and make decisions based on the evidence available.
2. Strong communication and writing skills and confidence in dealing and negotiating with a range of people at all levels, particularly external stakeholders
3. Familiarity with both the food and education landscapes within Scotland.
4. Ability to interpret data and research findings and develop learnings into robust, actionable strategies and plans.

Important Information Regarding Interviews
In recognition of the Scottish Government's ongoing measures and guidance in its response to Covid-19 (Coronavirus), we would like to advise applicants that a decision has been taken that all interviews must be conducted in a virtual/remote setting.

In order to facilitate this new way of working, we are asking all applicants to ensure that they have a suitable space to complete the virtual interview. In addition, a personal device of choice, which has the interview application downloaded. This could be MS Teams or Webex for example. This will allow candidates to undertake the interview/assessment if selected. We are also asking you to ensure that your personal Wi-Fi/Broadband capacity will be sufficient to carry both audio and video feeds. This will then ensure that there are no issues incurred during the interview.
