We are currently seeking applications for an Facilities and Admin Manager within Food Standards Scotland based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The Corporate Governance, ICT & Change, branch provides a range of services to support the organisation to deliver its statutory obligations and strategic goals. These services include Programme Management Office (PMO), Business Performance Reporting, IT, Records and Information Management, Facilities Management, Health and Safety, and Administrative support.

The post holder will be involved in the operation and maintenance of FSS facilities and associated sites where FSS has representation. The post will also provide a line management role for the Admin Team present in FSS head office, organising, structuring and allocating tasks to ensure efficient and effective use of resources within the team. The role holder will be responsible for aspects of performance management. The post holder will be line manager for a team of staff (5 x A Band). The post holder will report to the Corporate Business Manager.

Essential Criteria
1. Proactive team leader with previous experience of managing staff, helping to motivate and develop team members.
2. Well organised and highly motivated with the ability to prioritise workload and proficiently delegate tasks to ensure completion within time, budget and to an accepted standard.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all forms of communication methods and tools, and the ability to build good working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders, both internal and external.
4. Ability to manage contract and service companies towards a set of time and financial efficiencies whilst still achieving a high standard of required deliverables.
