We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Enforcement Manager  within the Food Standards Scotland  based in Aberdeen. This is a Fixed Term Appointment for 23 months and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The post will be based within the Enforcement Delivery Branch at FSS Head Office in Aberdeen or alternatively on a work from home arrangement but which will require presence in the Office on a regular basis. The Enforcement Delivery Branch sits within the Operations Directorate and is responsible for ensuring effective delivery of official controls relating to food safety, feed safety and food information by working with local authorities and delivery bodies.

The post-holder is expected to provide a respected source of advice to local authorities, FSS and other government departments. The post holder will undertake specific projects related to delivery of the FSS Regulatory Strategy and EU Exit plans. A proportion of the role will involve active engagement with these stakeholders in order to ensure that the FSS Food Law framework is effective and efficient. The post holder is expected to provide expertise in the area of food law enforcement and provide specialist technical support to field officers undertaking food law duties and to provide FSS with expert advice as required and particularly in relation to food incidents and food crime. The post holder will provide support to incident management and participate in emergency exercises as required.

Qualifications Required
A qualified Environmental Health Officer or Food Safety Officer with an appropriate qualification recognised by REHIS/EHRB with at least five years post qualification experience, of which at least three years must be in food law enforcement.
