The recruitment of Modern Apprentices is a fair, open and merit based process (16+) and with permanence from the start of the apprenticeship. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the interview.

The Office of the Secretary of State for Scotland occupies a unique place at the heart of the UK Government and supports the Secretary of State in promoting the best interests of Scotland within a stronger United Kingdom. You will have the opportunity to work closely with Senior Officials, Ministers and Special Advisers. This is a busy and varied role in the Senior Leadership Executive Support Team. You will be part of a small team of three headed up by a Business Manager and will be line managed by the B1 Diary Manager to the Director.

Main Duties
• Day to day management of two Deputy Director's diaries, including setting up regular internal meetings, meetings with Stakeholders and liaising with other offices across Whitehall.
• Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership team including printing meeting papers, booking meeting rooms, and escorting visitors, when in the office.
• Co-ordinate and respond to all invitations for the Deputy Directors. Liaise with organisers on follow up arrangements.
• Arrange all travel for the Deputy Directors and maintain spreadsheet records.
• Maintain the Gifts and Hospitality register for the above Deputy Directors.

Throughout the first 12 months the candidate will be expected to gain a relevant SVQ qualification in Business Administration. Support will be provided by a qualified assessor who will work with the successful candidate on a monthly basis. Time will be given to work on your qualification, this includes delivering 2 presentations.

Important Information Regarding Interviews

This will then ensure that there are no issues incurred during the interview.
