We are currently seeking applications for an Improving Gender Balance and Equalities Education Officer within Education Scotland. This post can be based out of any of Education Scotland’s offices located across Scotland . This is a 47 month fixed term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The successful candidate will play an exciting role in driving improvement in gender balance and equality within the context of the national STEM Education and Training Strategy. They will lead a team of five Development Officers to ensure the learning from the successful Improving Gender Balance and Equalities (IGBE) programme is embedded in all early learning and childcare establishments and schools by 2022. They will also liaise closely with the Regional Improvement Collaboratives and other key partners to support effective cross-sectoral collaboration, coordinate professional learning programmes and to promote whole establishment approaches to equality and equity.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Proven track record in a management position within an education sector organisation.
2. Able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of gender balance, equality and equity.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with a range of contacts.
4. Previous experience of managing the progress and delivery of key education projects.
