We are currently seeking applications for a Tackling Food Insecurity Policy Executive within the Social Justice Delivery Unit based in your choice of Edinburgh or Glasgow. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. e are looking for people who can work with pace, passion and purpose, and who can innovate to develop and evolve policy solutions to address deep rooted issues affecting people in Scotland who experience poverty. Your particular focus will be on tackling food insecurity, aiming to enable access to sufficient nutritious food in ways that respect human dignity and human rights. The main building blocks of your work will be nested within the recommendations of the Food Insecurity Delivery Group’s report - Dignity: Ending Hunger Together in Scotland – http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2016/06/8020/downloads.

This post is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong policy experience and the desire to work collaboratively to develop their skills and experience in a demanding and sensitive policy area which attracts considerable political and public interest.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.Please note: If you fail to demonstrate how you meet the minimum qualifications as stated above, your application will be automatically sifted out.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of using analysis to develop public policy and issue well thought-out recommendations.
2. Strong interpersonal, team-working and networking skills; able to manage stakeholder relationships and facilitate diverse participation with purpose and impact, preferably on a food issue.
3. Experience of project management in a complex cross-cutting public policy environment.
4. Experience of managing budgets and allocating resources to optimise impact.
