Transport Scotland is the national transport agency for Scotland and is accountable to Parliament and the public through Scottish Ministers, with a budget of around £2 billion per year. Transport is a vital feature of the Scottish Government's focus on increasing sustainable economic growth, and transport investments and policies have major impacts on the economy, people, and the environment.

Applications are invited for a Senior Environment & Sustainability Adviser in Transport Scotland based in the Environment & Sustainability Branch in Buchanan House, Glasgow. The Environment & Sustainability Branch forms part of the Roads Directorate. The team takes a strategic overview across the environmental & sustainability work of Transport Scotland, with a particular focus on operational and project environmental management.

The Senior Environment & Sustainability Adviser post in Transport Scotland will primarily lead on Transport Scotland’s Carbon Management System and provide environmental support, advice, verification, engagement, audit and metrics for construction and maintenance activities across the Agency. Input to the wider sustainability work the branch undertakes to deliver the commitments in the Transport Scotland Directorate Business Plans will also be required.

The current salary range for these posts is £36,328 – £43,923 (pro rata for part time).
