We are currently seeking applications for Operations Managers x2 within the Social Security Scotland based in Glasgow. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Overview
We believe that social security is a human right and we are working towards delivering a new Social Security system that ensures clients receive the financial support they need, whilst being treated with dignity, fairness and respect.

These roles offer the opportunity to lead and be part of a team who will be integral to Scotland’s new Social Security Agency.

There are two distinct roles on offer; the first role is working with Programme colleagues to help design the benefits that the Agency will deliver to leading and developing a team in providing day to day operational support. The other will be in the live running space, to support the benefits we are already delivering and those that we will launch in the near future. Both roles are suited to candidates who are energetic, enthusiastic, adaptable and lead by example.

This is an exciting time to be involved in the Social Security Agency’s start up, these are key positions allowing you to influence change and improve client experience within the agency.  It involves a range of duties to ensure we provide an excellent service to Scotland’s citizens. Some travel to Dundee and Edinburgh will be expected, especially with the Programme facing role.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent or experience of managing an operational function in a large scale, front line customer service environment.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of managing in a large scale, front line customer service environment.
2. Strong leadership skills, demonstrating your values with the culture of your organisation.

3. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues outside your immediate work area to achieve positive outcomes.
4. Experience of working in a significant change project in an operational environment.
