We are currently seeking applications for Content Designers within the Social Security Programme Directorate based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The Smith Commission proposed the devolution of significant welfare powers to the Scottish Parliament.  Many of these powers are set out in the new Scotland Act.  Once fully enacted, social security benefits in excess of £2.7bn will be transferred from the UK Parliament, including powers to create Scottish benefits for those of working age. This will allow the Scottish Government to establish many elements of a Scottish social security system.

This vacancy sits within the Programme Management & Delivery Division Content Design team who work with our delivery teams to develop content strategy.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of writing for the web, with proven ability of creating accessible user-centred content.
2. Proven experience in using data and user feedback to define and refine content.
3. Proven experience of managing relationships with stakeholders.
4. Experience in working with content publishing systems.
