We are currently seeking applications for a Lead Technical Architect within the Directorate for Digital based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The Lead Technical Architect will play a pivotal role in the delivery of all technical architecture services, both internally and with partners across the public sector, through direct involvement in enterprise, solution and technical architecture activities as part of transformation programmes and projects that are delivered by the Digital Transformation Division. The Lead Technical Architect will provide advice on solution development, integration, operations and maintenance under a continuous delivery approach and will represent our technology function in partner engagement across the Central Government and wider public sector.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience working on strategic/enterprise architecture projects delivering current state/future state architectures and roadmaps that are aligned to organisational/business objectives and technology drivers.
2. Track record in designing and evolving the most appropriate solution/technical architecture to meet user needs/requirements, across a range of different environments and technologies.
3. Expertise in digital technologies and approaches including cloud (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS), common front and back end technologies, software defined infrastructure, continuous delivery, devops.
4. Experience of working within a large-scale transformation programme / environment using Agile and other delivery methods.
