We are currently seeking applications for 10 Enquiry Officers  within the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) based in Saughton House, Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

We are looking for individuals who are keen to be part of the students learning journey from the outset ensuring they get the right advice and support.

The Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) is part of the Scottish Government. Our main job is to give financial help to students in Higher Education. We employ around 240 people and deal with around 160,000 applications every year. Details of SAAS services can be found at www.SAAS.gov.uk. All relevant training will be provided where necessary.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band A, you must hold a minimum of 5 Standard Grades (grades 1 – 3) or Ordinary Grades (A-C) including English and a numerical subject.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Relevant experience will also be considered.

Essential Criteria
1. Demonstrated commitment to delivering a high quality frontline service through call handling and meeting operational targets. 
2. Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
3. Competent in providing advice/solutions to customers, using operational and security procedures within policy/legal guidelines.
4. Competent in using various ICT packages e.g. word, excel.
