We are currently seeking applications for an Interaction Designer within the SD: Programme Management Delivery based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The Smith Commission proposed the devolution of significant welfare powers to the Scottish Parliament. Many of these powers are set out in the new Scotland Act. Once fully enacted, social security benefits in excess of £2.7bn will be transferred from the UK Parliament, including powers to create Scottish benefits for those of working age. This will allow the Scottish Government to establish many elements of a Scottish social security system.

This vacancy sits within the Programme Management & Delivery Division Interaction Design team who work with our delivery teams to ensure the end users can interact with our services designed to make processes more accessible for them.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Essential Criteria
1.  Experience of selecting and using appropriate design tools and methods to collaboratively explore service opportunities and problems, and reduce unnecessary complexity.
2.  Experience of translating user needs into design concepts and prototypes.
3.  Ability to communicate design solutions and different design directions effectively.
4.  Knowledge of other user centred design practices.
