We are currently seeking applications for a Business Support Assistant  within the Education Scotland  based in Glasgow, Livingston and Dundee. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

Overview
Education Scotland is the national improvement agency for Scottish education and an executive agency of the Scottish Government.  Our role is to promote improvement through inspection and review, innovation and change, from the early years to adult learning and to provide support and challenge to the education system. We are committed to embedding our values of excellence, creativity, integrity and respect in everything we do.

This post will be part of a wider team which provides business planning and support to the directorates across the organisation. This wider team is led by a C1 Head of the team. Supporting this role are 5 x B3 Business Partners and 3 x B1 Managers. This team  also includes numerous A3 and A4 colleagues who will support directorate administration requirements, reception and also support C3 colleagues within Education Scotland.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band A, you must hold a minimum of 5 Standard Grades (grades 1 – 3) or Ordinary Grades (A-C) including English and a numerical subject.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Essential Criteria
1.  Excellent organisational skills and ability to work using your own initiative.
2.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and collaborate effectively.
3.  Experience of providing administration support to senior management.
4.  Experience of working in a fast paced office environment, proficient in the use of Outlook, Word and Excel IT packages.
