We are currently seeking applications for a Senior HR Administrator within the Directorate for People based in Saughton House, Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

HR Shared Services provide a range of services to staff in the Scottish Government and a number of public bodies.  We are responsible for paying around 10,000 people from an annual pay bill of approximately £395 million. We are also responsible for the provision of Pension Administration.

It is a busy operational environment, which is structured around meeting key monthly deadlines and delivering a high level of customer service.  In order to facilitate those demands you will need to work flexibly to meet business needs.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band A, you must hold a minimum of 5 Standard Grades (grades 1 – 3) or Ordinary Grades (A-C) including English and a numerical subject.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable or an equivalent HR qualification or experience. If you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Essential Criteria
1. Ability to work flexibly, prioritise and manage your workload against competing deadlines within a demanding and fast paced environment.
2. Good verbal and written communication and numerical skills.
3. Experience of working as part of a team with the ability to work flexibly with colleagues to deliver business objectives and excellent customer service.
4. The ability to analyse and understand information and interpret policies, to identify options and make recommendations.
