We are currently seeking applications for a Content Manager within the Information & Technology Services (iTECS) IT Support Services based in Edinburgh. This is a 23 month fixed term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. ITSS is a large branch where staff are in daily contact with SCOTS customers. Customer focus, customer engagement and making continuous service improvements to our processes and service delivery goals are key drivers for the success of the Branch.

The support and services we provide include: -
• Desktop and mobile support
• IT Service Desk
• Corporate smartphones
• Service management products
• Software and hardware asset management
• VIP support
• Corporate events and projects
• Logistical services
• Implementing and influencing wider iTECS technical and business strategies.

The post holder will primarily be responsible for managing the content within the Scottish Governments (SG) IT Service Management (ITSM) tool – Assyst, currently branded as iFix within the Scottish Government. You will also work closely with colleagues to create content ensuring our principles continue to be implemented.

You will also be involved in the on-going development of the solution such as input into the Information Architecture and its overall usability. Our focus is on ensuring the end user portal is user friendly and accessible to all users.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent however a minimum of 3 years recent experience in a similar role may also be acceptable.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of working with a content management system, including using HTML to produce online content.
2. Excellent writing skills including impeccable spelling and grammar. The ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner, often to tight deadlines, ensuring current accessibility standards are adhered to.
3. Good organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities while working on your own initiative. The successful candidate will have proven problem solving skills, be able to research problems, seek solutions and to work with the team and suppliers to implement these.
4. The ability to positively influence colleagues and stakeholders, and where necessary, confidently and professionally challenging senior colleagues to ensure our principles continue to be implemented.
