We are currently seeking applications for a Finance Manager (Capital and Fixed Assets) within Social Security Scotland based in Glasgow. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The new social security agency will deliver devolved Benefits to the people of Scotland and we are recruiting for two enthusiastic Finance Business Partners to help shape the development of the Corporate Finance team that supports the agency. Our top priority is to ensure the safe and secure transition of 11 benefits for the 1.4 million people who rely on them in Scotland.

This is a high-profile and exciting area, with continuing political, public and media interest. The Agency is split across two main locations, the headquarters in Dundee with Glasgow the other main location.

Qualifications Required
For this post you must be CCAB qualified or finalist.

For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Essential Criteria
1. Strong Financial management experience, with the ability to generate, identify and interrogate financial data to support decision making and assure appropriate accountability and use of public funds.
2. Proven ability to work on your own initiative, coping with the demands of a fast paced challenging environment where opportunities need to be quickly realised, whilst managing competing priorities and ensuring deadlines are met.
3. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain financial information effectively to both finance and non-finance professionals.
4. Effective people management skills. Must be credible with staff, creating conditions to build confident and effective teams that empower, value, develop and motivate people.
