We are currently seeking applications for a European Maritime Fisheries Fund Project Officer within Marine Scotland based in Aberdeen. This is a 15 month fixed term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

This is a 15 month fixed term appointment in which the successful candidate will work for 100% of their time on the (European Maritime Fisheries Fund) (EMFF) funded Natura 2000 Cumulative Effects Assessment Framework (CEAF) project. The post is available immediately.
The CEAF project will provide an improved understanding of the cumulative environmental effects focusing primarily on Natura 2000 sites and populations, supporting marine mammal and seabird conservation strategies for Scottish seas, and help to ensure that wider benefits for highly mobile species are delivered that complement the network of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) in the marine environment. It will allow more informed planning and management of marine activities (e.g. fisheries, renewables) and sustainable development within the marine environment.

ualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of project delivery, monitoring project budgets and time scales and reporting progress back to funders.
2. Demonstrable written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain project management and technical concepts to varied audiences.
3. Use of interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and be credible with stakeholders.
4. The ability to work independently with good organisational skills
