We are currently seeking applications for a Communications Manager  within the Digital Assurance Office  based in Edinburgh.  This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. This role offers the opportunity to gain a unique insight into the provision of independent assurance across the Central Government sector. Working on their own initiative, the postholder will take forward the exciting challenge of shaping a communications strategy to raise the profile of independent assurance and increase engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The Directorate of Internal Audit and Assurance (DIAA) was formed in April 2019 to improve the co-ordination of assurance activity across the teams who support Internal Audit, the assurance of portfolios, programmes and projects including digital projects.
Working closely with the Senior Managers who lead on assurance activity and also with stakeholders from across the business change and Digital communities, the successful candidate will develop a communications strategy and a range of supporting communication products and activities e.g. case studies and good practice.
In keeping with the team ethos of continuous improvement and putting stakeholders at the heart of our communications, the postholder will develop a mechanism to gauge the effectiveness and impact of key products and ensure a responsive and creative approach to emerging business information requirements.
Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of producing communication products to a high standard and providing realistic advice to senior managers at a strategic level.
2. Gathering and interpreting data on the effectiveness of communication and its impact on business outcomes.
3. Using the most effective channels and technologies available to maximum advantage. You will be adept at exploring new ways to promote messages for hard to reach audiences.
4. Designing and presenting stakeholder events to support achievement of strategic outcomes.
