We are currently seeking applications for a HR Resourcing Policy Officer within HR Shared Services based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

An opportunity has arisen to join the HR Resourcing Team. The key aspects of the post are resourcing policy and related contract management. Our aim is to ensure that resourcing policies and practices meet organisational needs whilst complying with relevant employment legislation and the Civil Service Commission’s Recruitment Principles.

This post offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the HR Resourcing agenda across the Scottish Government in the context of SG2020 and specifically the Matching Resources to Priorities strand - helping to develop creative resourcing solutions which will have a positive impact across Scottish Government and it's Agencies.

In addition the post holder will work with related external service providers to help ensure that services – such as the supply of agency/interim workers and the provision of assessment tools and exercises – meet required standards. A unique aspect of the post is providing advice and guidance on nationality and Visa sponsorship and consideration of migrant sponsorship applications.

The post holder will be part of a Team covering resourcing policy and delivery and work closely with the Head of Resourcing and Policy and Interchange Managers.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Relevant experience will also be considered.

Essential Criteria
1. Excellent written skills including correspondence, report writing, briefing and minutes.
2. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders and establish good, supportive working relationships.
3. Ability to effectively analyse a range of information to inform policy change and/or support decision making.
4. Good organisational skills, the ability to work flexibly and manage and prioritise competing workloads.
