We are currently seeking applications for a Receptionist /Front of house assistant within the National Records of Scotland (NRS) based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

Applications are invited for Receptionist / Front of House Assistant (A3) with the National Records for Scotland (NRS).

NRS perform the registration and statistical functions of the Registrar General of Scotland, including responsibility for demographic statistics and census, and the archival functions of the Keeper including maintaining the archives as one of Scotland's five National Collections, and providing a leadership role for Scottish archive and record professionals. We are also responsible for the service for family history which attracts visitors from around the world to research their Scottish ancestors.

The post is part of our Estates team who are responsible for the management of our 6 buildings and the associated planned and reactive maintenance together with improvement projects.
The buildings provide extensive archive storage as well as historic facilities for public access along with essential office accommodation for around 450 staff across the entire estate.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band A, you must hold a minimum of 5 Standard Grades (grades 1 – 3) or Ordinary Grades (A-C) including English and a numerical subject.
