We are currently seeking applications for an Information Governance Support Officer within the Social Security Programme based in Glasgow. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Continuing advances in digital technology and data science offers great opportunities for public service delivery in the area of social security. However, such opportunities can only be realised through collaborative working across technical, policy and delivery environments.

Information Governance will be central to this work in order to ensure that the processing and use of the knowledge, information and data is lawful and that all information risks are managed.

This post will be work in the Information Governance Policy Team in the Design Standards Team of the Social Security Programme. You will support specific deliverables required by the programme as well as providing overall support for the team.

Your role will be a multi-faceted one, covering information governance and project management skills and offering working exposure to agile delivery under the Scottish approach to service design in a fast-paced, exciting environment.

This is an open and exciting opportunity to learn new or build upon existing expertise in the field of information governance, working in the high profile area that is the Social Security Programme.

The successful candidate will work in the Information Governance Policy Team in the Design Standards Team of the Social Security Programme. You will support specific deliverables required by the programme as well as providing overall support for the team.

The postholder will be requied to travel between Scottish Government offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh and occasionally to Dundee.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B and C you must hold a minimum of 3 highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met and delivery is successful.
2. Ability to build and maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and with team members.
3. A high standard of oral and written communication skills, including ability to present information clearly and succinctly.
4. Experience of working in a project environment.
