We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Public Health Nutritionist within the Food Standards Scotland based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The role of senior dietary advisor has arisen in the FSS Nutrition Science and Policy Branch. This is an exciting opportunity for a nutritionist with experience in dietary analysis.

The jobholder will have joint responsibility, together with other B3 grade nutrition scientists, for the provision, translation and dissemination of the science and evidence base relating to diet and health, together with relevant risk management strategies required to progress and implement diet policy in Scotland. This will include leading and managing work to support the FSS Nutrition Programme work streams.

Qualifications Required
You must hold a minimum of a degree relevant to nutrition or public health or be registered with the Association for Nutrition in Public Health.

Essential Criteria
1. Proven ability to critically analyse data relating to diet and health and to interpret the scientific evidence base relevant to public health nutrition.
2. Strong oral and written communication skills with proven ability to clearly convey complex information about diet and health to a wide range of audiences, including senior colleagues, external stakeholders and consumers.
3. Strong project management and organisational skills and an ability to balance competing demands to ensure commitments are delivered in a timely manner.
4. Proven ability to create and maintain collaborative working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholder with differing views and at all levels of seniority.
