We are currently seeking applications for an Operational Lead within Social Security based in Dundee. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. As an Operational Lead, the post holder will have an influential role to play in shaping, implementing and delivering Social Security Scotland’s benefits across Agency locations.

This is an important front facing operational leadership role which will involve a range of duties to ensure that we provide an excellent service to clients. The work is cross cutting, complex and high profile so the post holder will need to demonstrate an ability to deliver impressive results in a challenging environment of Ministerial and stakeholder scrutiny.

They will need to respond positively to change and support their teams in doing the same. As a leader within Social Security Scotland, the post holder will work closely with the wider Social Security Directorate, including Policy and Programme teams, to meet our delivery commitments and vision. Social Security Scotland’s end to end operational processes are being designed and implemented across Glasgow and Dundee. The ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people to deliver results is essential.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of managing a large scale operational and service delivery environment.
2. Strong leadership skills with experience of setting clear operational objectives in a fast paced, autonomous and often changing customer service environment.
3. Demonstrated personal ability to thrive in a high profile and demanding environment. You will have a track record in collaborative working with colleagues and delivery partners with the ability to influence outcomes through managing and resolving competing viewpoints.
4. Experience of delivering successful outcomes in a significant change project in an operational environment.
