We are currently seeking applications for a Team Leader within the Directorate for Healthcare Quality and Improvement based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The post holder will lead a team responsible for developing cancer policy, building on the success of the previous five year cancer strategy and learning from the response of the health service to Covid-19. 
In addition to policy development the post acts as a crucial link to the operational governance group for NHS cancer services and regional cancer networks. The post holder will regularly engage with Health Boards, health professionals and policy teams across Scottish Government in a fast paced and high priority policy area.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of working across policy and operational environments with the ability to spot trends and opportunities for strengthening and supporting improvement and performance across health services.
2. Proven ability to deliver high priority projects in a demanding context.
3. Strong analytical skills and experience of working with analytical evidence and statistical data.
4. Experience of building supportive relationships and gaining credibility with a wide range of stakeholders, particularly at the operational level.
