We are currently seeking applications for Engagement and Communications Officer within The Promise based in Edinburgh. This is a fixed-term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The Promise will make sure Scotland listens to children and adults with lived experience of Scotland’s system of care, families and the paid and unpaid workforce and deliver the changes needed.

Playing a key role in driving The Promise’s communications activity and ensuring its work and brand are reflected positively and consistently, this role requires working proactively across all teams to capture and share stories, learning and key messages. It will support the production of materials, digital content and news releases, with an emphasis on engaging, creative and accessible approaches.

The team will be incubated in Scottish Government for up to 9 months while work takes place to explore options of being housed externally therefore the current roles are short term fixed term appointments until 31st March 2021.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to communicate and engage in a variety of forms, including oral and written.
2. Experience of using communications systems such as Wordpress and CRM software.
3. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective systems.
4. Expertise in presenting complex information accessibly and checking all work is accurate and of high quality before publication.
