We are currently seeking a number of applications for Trainee Accountants within the Health Finance, Corporate Governance and Value Directorate as well as in the Directorate for Financial Management based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The Scottish Government is committed to supporting your development. As part of this commitment, we will provide financial assistance to cover the cost of course fees and materials, study leave of 37 hours per exam and the opportunity to gain wide ranging experience working alongside other professional Finance staff. Your experiences in this role and accountancy qualification will put you in a strong position to apply for more senior roles within Scottish Government or across the Public Sector.

Qualifications Required
Educated to Degree level or Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Technician Level or part qualified CCAB/CIMA Accountant.

Please note: If you fail to demonstrate how you meet the minimum qualifications as stated above, your application will be automatically sifted out.

3. Able to work flexibly under pressure and effectively prioritise workload to contribute to team performance in a dynamic and complex organisation.

This will then ensure that there are no issues incurred during the interview.
