We are currently seeking applications for 3 Business Analysts (Pathways) within the Covid-19 Test and Protect Portfolio. The roles are currently home-based, which will be regularly reviewed. If this changes, the office location of the roles would be at Scottish Government bases in Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is a 6 month fixed term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

This post sits within the Pathways Development team which is part of the Test & Protect, Test Trace Isolate & Support (TTIS) programme.

The Analyst will work in a small team of three* to support the Pathways Workstream Delivery Lead, in ensuring high quality and usable artefacts are developed, validated, and communicated to the stakeholders who are ultimately responsible for implementation.

*We require one of our three Analysts to be more technically focussed, who can work closely with the Digital Workstream, to understand the impact of technical roadmaps(including Data Flows) on existing and pipeline Pathways.

The Analyst will support in mapping end-to-end 'user' journeys across the Test & Protect programme. The 'user' is defined as members of the public in addition to NHS staff and key workers. These pathway maps are an essential tool in the effective planning and delivery of the Test and Protect service. The Business Analyst role for Pathways, involves significant stakeholder engagement across health and social care, necessary to the creation of detailed and accurate high-level service maps, process maps, journey maps and data flow maps. Moreover, the role demands proactivity and attention to detail in identifying any potential significant service or design issues in processes along the journey.

The Analyst will provide crucial support and show ownership in an array of areas.

Qualifications Required
SCQF level 9 (Ordinary Degree, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4) or equivalent (including professional accreditation with relevant formal training), and experience of personal development in a similar or related role(s).
It would also be desirable to have: Certificate in Business Analysis (e.g. IIBA CBAP/CCBA); BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis; Agile/Scrum qualification.

Essential Criteria
1. Ability to collate and analyse different forms of evidence to draw out recommendations or key messages and inform decision making.
2. Experience in process mapping and dataflow mapping.
3. Experience in leading collaborative workshops and engaging multidisciplinary teams in the design process.
4. Strong understanding of design methodologies including human centred design.
