We are currently seeking applications for a Accounts and Annual Returns Officer within the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) based in Dundee. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

To ensure annual return data and accounting information is used throughout OSCR to drive continuous improvement in charities and to increase public confidence.

OSCR is the independent regulator and registrar for Scottish charities.  OSCR is a Non-ministerial Office, and has no formal reporting responsibility to any of the Scottish Government directorates, being accountable to the Scottish Parliament.

OSCR's work is overseen and directed by a Board which is appointed by Scottish Ministers following an open public appointments process. The Board is responsible for OSCR's strategy and future direction, oversight and governance and is supported by approximately 50 staff. The Chief Executive is responsible to the Board and is the most senior staff member of the organisation.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of working with and analysing, or contributing to the preparation of, statutory year end accounts.
2. Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information quickly and effectively with minimum supervision.
3.  Ability to summarise and present complex financial issues through concise evidence based reports, or case conference presentations.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
