We are currently seeking applications for an Administrative Officer within Rural Payments and Inspections Division based in Inverurie. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The Scottish Government Rural Payments and Inspections Division (SGRPID) Area Office at Thainstone Court, Inverurie is part of a network of 16 Area Offices that perform key roles in the work of SGRPID.

Area Office staff are responsible for the delivery of grants, subsidies and other Government policies to the rural community.

As well as administering and maintaining existing schemes, they contribute their knowledge and experience towards the development and implementation of policies and systems for new schemes.

Our Administrative team in Inverurie consists of 2 Office Managers (B1); 1 Administrative Officer (A4); and 15 Administrative Officers (A3).

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band A, you must hold a minimum of 5 Standard Grades (grades 1–3) or Ordinary Grades (A-C) including English and a numerical subject.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Essential Criteria
1. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
2. Strong administration, organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise work when presented with competing tasks and deadlines.
3. A proven ability to be a team player who works well with others but can carry out individual tasks when required with the minimum of supervision.
4. Experience in dealing with a diverse range of customers.
