We are currently seeking applications for an Administrative Officer within the Rural Payments and Inspections Division based in Perth. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

Perth Area Office is part of the network of 16 local Area Offices of Scottish Government Rural Payments and Inspections Division (SGRPID). The Area Offices are the main contact with farmers, crofters and other interested parties, being responsible for the delivery of grants, subsidies and other Government policies to the rural community. We are the main point of contact for our customers and stakeholders in central Scotland and have a large volume of telephone calls and customers visiting the office. We provide professional advice and information to Scottish Ministers, the general public and other colleagues in the Scottish Government.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band A, you must hold a minimum of 5 Standard Grades (grades 1–3) or Ordinary Grades (A-C) including English and a numerical subject.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Essential Criteria
1. Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, to have confidence in dealing with a range of customers and stakeholders at all levels, to maintain and improve standards of customer service.
2. Good administration, organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and workloads.
3. A proven team player who is able to work well with others but also carry out individual tasks as required, with the minimum of supervision.
4. Good IT skills, with a good working knowledge of a variety of IT systems, including Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel and Outlook.
