We are currently seeking applications for an Education Officer (Job Share – 18.5 hours)   within Education Scotland based in  based in either Livingston, Dundee or Glasgow. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Overview
Education Scotland is the national improvement agency for Scottish education and an executive agency of the Scottish Government. Our role is to promote improvement through inspection and review, innovation and change, and providing support and challenge to the whole of the education system from early years to adult learning. We are committed to improving outcomes for all children, young people, adults and communities through a relentless focus on excellence and equity. Community Learning and Development (CLD) encompasses adult learning, youth work, ESOL, adult literacy and numeracy, and community learning. CLD plays a crucial role in delivering the Scottish Government’s national outcomes and demonstrates valuable impact on the lives of learners throughout lifelong learning and across a range of Scottish Government priorities. 
The post holder will work within the Regional Directorate engaging with key stakeholders from across local authorities, the voluntary sector and national partners. Aspects of the role will include the line management of staff, improvement and support to the sector and establishing internal and external partnerships for the delivery of national outcomes. Membership of the CLD Standards Council welcome.
Qualifications Required
Community Learning and Development Qualification SCQF level 9 or above.

Essential Criteria
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in relation to complex and sensitive issues, including briefings, the design of engaging and accessible communications solutions.

2.  Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to command the confidence of senior colleagues and external stakeholders.
3.  Well organised, highly motivated, and a proven track record in exercising sound judgement in managing complex and fast-moving programmes of work and the ability to think and act strategically and make links across policy and organisation boundaries.
4.  Excellent leadership and influencing skills, with experience of working collaboratively across different areas and managing relationships with a range of internal and/or external stakeholders to ensure delivery of key priorities.
Provisional Sift and Interview Dates
Provisional Date for sift week commencing 8 February 2021.  With interviews week commencing 1 March 2021.
Additional Information
Job-Share 0.5 FTE. 18.5 hours per week, working days - Wednesday PM, Thursday and Friday all day.
