We are currently seeking applications for Data Protection Practitioner within the Operational Delivery department based in Dundee or Glasgow.This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

This is a high-profile and exciting area, with continuing political, public and media interest. Dundee is the location of the Agency's headquarters, with Glasgow the Agency's other main location.The post will report to the Agency's Data Protection Officer, within the Governance and Strategy Unit of the Agency. The post can be based in either location.

The team is responsible for ensuring we manage information in a way that respects individual rights whilst supporting business accountabilities. This will contribute to establishing the Agency as a role model for public bodies in Scotland. This post will have a key role in enabling the Agency to demonstrate delivery on it's obligations under Data Protection legislation. There will be opportunities to work across a range of themes and collaborate with staff across the Agency.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of work to deliver one of the Scottish Government's key priorities: delivering a stronger and fairer ScotlandAt this current time this role will be carried out by working from home. Colleagues in Social Security Scotland continue to follow Scottish Government guidelines around COVID-19. When we return to offices, it will be when we are advised that it is safe to do so and we will comply with any guidelines or stipulations around this. Since March we have successfully welcomed over 300 new colleagues to our organisation whilst working from home. We have robust, safe processes around delivering equipment and putting in place reasonable adjustments for our new colleagues. As before, we are still fully committed to supporting our colleagues as much as we can. For certain roles, learning has been delivered virtually and we have regular communication from senior leaders so you can be kept up to date with the latest developments around Social Security Scotland.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. An understanding of GDPR and national data protection laws
2. Ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and professional disciplines
3. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
4. Good analytical skills and sound judgement skills
