We are currently seeking applications for a Cyber Defence Team Lead within the Social Security Scotland based in Dundee or Glasgow. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. DDaT Pay Supplement
This post attracts a £4,000.00 DDaT pay supplement after a 9 month DDaT competency qualifying period.  Pay supplements are temporary payments designed to address recruitment and retention issues caused by market pressures and are subject to regular review.

Overview
The Social Security is a Directorate of the Scottish Government. The Directorate sits within the Director General Organisational Development and Operations.
The Directorate is responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transition of benefits to be devolved to Scotland from the UK under the Scotland Act 2016. The Directorate is also responsible for new benefits created within the framework established by the Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018.
The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) division is one of five divisions in the Social Security Directorate.
CDO is delivering an ambitious digital programme to support the transfer of welfare powers to the Scottish Government, supporting the strategy of a leading digital organisation and ensuring Scotland becomes a leading digital nation.
The Social Security Scotland IT systems will be the largest, most complex IT programme of change since devolution. The team have started with an almost blank page and the IT spend over the course of the project is estimated at circa £190m.
The team is responsible for all of the architecture, technology, platforms, security, cloud infrastructure, capability and solutions that underpins Social Security Scotland, in delivering Scotland's first devolved welfare system.
From 1 April 2021, CDO will move from being in the Social Security Directorate, to become the technical delivery branch of Social Security Scotland.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience of managing a technical security function, ideally vulnerability management.
2. Thorough understanding of networking, infrastructure and application architectures both cloud based and on premise.
3. Comprehensive experience of applying government and international security standards, e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials etc.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to describe technical issues in a non-technical manner.
