We are currently seeking applications for an Education Officer within the Education Scotland Directorate anywhere in Scotland. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. We are currently recruiting an Education Officer to support our work in Early Learning and Childcare within the West Regional Improvement Team.


The post holder will predominantly help provide support to practitioners, schools, local authorities and the regional improvement collaborative in their allocated region. In addition, work with other localities outwith the home team will be required as appropriate to need. Within the context of improved outcomes for children and young people, the post holder will be responsible for managing and delivering key projects in the specified curriculum area.


Qualifications Required

For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

Essential Criteria

1. Proven track record in a management position within an education sector organisation.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills, confidence in dealing with a range of stakeholders with the ability to demonstrate well-developed relationship management skills.
3. Previous experience which demonstrates the successful leadership and management of key education projects.
4. Able to demonstrate expert knowledge within specific area of curriculum as outlined above within the discipline noted.
