We are currently seeking applications Head of IT Services within Revenue Scotland based in Edinburgh. These are permanent and pensionable appointments and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. DDaT Pay Supplement
These post attract a £4,000 DDaT pay supplement after a 9 months DDaT competency qualifying period. Pay supplements are temporary payments designed to address recruitment and retention issues caused by market pressures and are subject to regular review.

We have a new and exciting opportunity to lead the digital agenda in Scotland’s tax authority. This is a key leadership role which has responsibility for delivering our Digital Strategy, setting key business priorities for the next three years, and for the development of our technology offering. The role offers a fantastic opportunity for leading the IT function of a growing and developing public body in Scotland. As a leading online deliverer in the Scottish public administration, you will play a key role in driving and aligning our delivery with the Digital Scotland agenda and the Cyber Resilience Public Sector Action Plan. You and your team will meet and support a wide range of IT needs of Revenue Scotland. You will be responsible for managing our information and data assurance as well as our cyber security arrangements.

The Head of IT Services is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for service management, Information Assurance, and delivery of customer facing services to our staff. The role will involve extensive engagement within the organisation up to and including Board level. You will represent the IT Service Management and Information assurance functions at a senior level and act as an escalation point for business stakeholders. The role is key to our delivery.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience in leading a team to plan and deliver against strategic and team objectives.
2. Experience of technical supplier management, outsourced service delivery and supplier performance management.
3. A track record of delivering IT services within an ITIL service management framework.
4. An understanding of Cyber Essentials and relevant standards such as ISO/IEC 20000 and ISO27001 and implementations into an operational environment as well as a good understanding and working knowledge of continuous improvement, cyber security, risk based planning and resilience.
