Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

When the River Clyde flourishes so does Glasgow, the city-region and Scotland. Clyde Mission is a national, place based mission to drive inclusive and sustainable growth along the Clyde River corridor. The Clyde Mission is a long term plan to make the Clyde an engine of sustainable and inclusive growth for Glasgow, the city-region and Scotland. The Division works to strengthen our relationship with local government and wider partners across the public, private, academic and third sectors on economic development and, where necessary, to support wider work across the Directorate to respond to Covid-19 and EU Exit.

This is an exciting opportunity to be join a multi-partner, multi-disciplinary team tasked with working across Government, its agencies and the public and private sectors to take a place based approach to economic development and our recovery from Covid-19, maximising the potential of the Clyde as a strategic asset for Scotland.

The Clyde Mission Team is responsible for driving forward work across Government and our public and private sector partners to deliver the Mission. We have five core Missions: create new, good and green jobs and a workforce with the skills to secure those jobs; use vacant and derelict land for the benefit of the economy, the environment and communities; Adapt to climate risks, especially flooding; accelerate Scotland's progress to net zero; use the river to create better places for people and communities. The Team's focus is on developing the partnerships and governance which will help us deliver against these Missions; connecting and nurturing ideas across actors in the local, regional and national economy, and promoting the generation and sharing new ideas and approaches, information and resources.

The Team will also ensure delivery of the £13m of funding we have already committed to projects along the Clyde; and develop plans for the effective use of £25m to support district heating along the river over the next five years. Moving forward we will identify further opportunities for growth along the river; undertake work to realise the potential of the river to address the climate change emergency and the opportunities it presents for new industries and jobs; and consider how we might work with partners to lever investment. The Division works closely with our SG and agency colleagues on issues such as sustainable transport; flood management, Community Wealth Building and the National Planning Framework.
