We are currently seeking applications for an Pay Services Manager within People Services based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The HR Shared Service Centre is a busy operational environment located within People Directorate. We are responsible for ensuring salary and pension changes are processed accurately and timeously to approx. 12,500 staff. These staff include Scottish Government and other public bodies. Work in this area is structured around meeting key monthly deadlines and delivering a high level of customer service. In order to facilitate those demands you will need to work flexibly to meet business needs. As a Team Manager your key focus will be leading your team in delivering excellent customer service through in a variety of pay scenarios. The ideal Team Manager understands that supporting employees is a critical role they perform, to achieve this you will be open and approachable and engage with your team individually to understand how to most effectively coach and motivate them.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent or 2 years relevant operational experience.

Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable, if you are in any doubt please contact to discuss.

1 : Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to deliver challenging objectives in a fast-paced environment.
2 : Demonstrate good management and leadership skills across teams.
3 : Work effectively at pace and adapt quickly to changing circumstances and expectations.
4 : Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate information in a clear and positive way.
