We are currently seeking applications for a Content and Social Media Officer within Communications based in Edinburgh. This is a 23 month fixed term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The Content & Social Media Officer for Brand Scotland will create engaging digital content for international audiences on the Scotland is Now social media channels and Scotland.org website. The Content & Social Media Officer will help create a unique point of differentiation online and a strong national identity for Scotland on digital channels to ensure that Scotland can more effectively compete and stand out in a global market place. This includes driving awareness and reputation of Scotland as a modern, innovative, progressive and inclusive nation, that is a prime destination in which to live, work, study, visit and do business. Through close collaboration with the Brand Scotland Social Media Manager and the Lead Content Editor, the Content & Social Media Officer will work to create a suite of unified online presence and a consistent tone of voice, engage with our target audiences and push Scotland higher up the consideration list. The Social Media Manager works proactively with senior stakeholders and partners to elevate Scotland’s brand and reinforce Scotland’s proposition, values and brand attributes. This role is within the Brand Scotland team (and sits alongside Scottish Government’s Marketing Team). Reporting to the Brand Scotland Senior Digital Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the full team and take full accountability for their own portfolio of responsibilities.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1 : Experience creating engaging multimedia and graphic design content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or native social media platform tools.
2 : Proven digital marketing experience in a communications or marketing role that includes social media content creation and community management.
3 : Experience using brand guidelines and translating them into different content formats which represent the brand visually and also the brand values.
4 : Excellent communication and marketing skills, both in written and verbal form.
