The Scottish Government is focussed on making Scotland a more successful country and a better place to live. We are responsible for over £40 billion of expenditure per annum, which enables us to provide public services that cover health, education, justice, housing and social security to our citizens. It is our ambition to be a world-leading, diverse employer where people can be themselves at work. With this aim in mind, we are recruiting to a new senior leadership role in equality, inclusion and human rights. You will work across all aspects of public policy development, ensuring that equality, inclusion and human rights sits at the heart of our approach, to the benefit of everyone in Scotland.    Through your expertise and influence, you will drive a culture  where equality, inclusion and human rights is at the centre of how we develop policy and deliver services. As we build back from the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on Scotland’s communities you will support Scottish Ministers in helping secure our ambition of a Scotland with opportunities for all to flourish through increased wellbeing and sustainable and inclusive economic growth.  We seek applications from those who can demonstrate significant leadership experience gained at a senior level in complex organisations of scale. You will possess a demonstrable track record of leading transformational change and a passion for making a difference at a strategic level in the areas of equalities, inclusion and human rights. We will expect you to demonstrate strong, proven leadership qualities and a passion for, and commitment to, continuous professional development and the development of others. Your ability to rapidly gain the credibility of a wide range of senior stakeholders and influence those at the most senior level should be clear. We are ambitious about diversity and inclusion and want our organisation to reflect the people of Scotland and be a place where people can be themselves. The Scottish Government has a range of activities which promote diversity and inclusion within our workforce. We would particularly welcome interest from women and individuals from those groups currently under represented at this level, including lesbian, gay or bisexual orientation and/or transgender or intersex status (LGBTI), disabled and those from a minority ethnic background. The Scottish Government also supports applications from those who wish to work an alternative pattern, including job-share, and would be happy to discuss options with you.
