We are currently seeking applications for a Finance Officer within Scottish Housing Regulator based in Glasgow. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) is a Non-Ministerial Department. We regulate registered social landlords (RSLs) and local authority housing services in Scotland. Our staff are civil servants and are subject to Scottish Government main terms and conditions. We regulate social landlords to protect the interests of people who receive services from them. We have an annual revenue budget of £4.7m and receive services from Scottish Government for IT, HR, payroll and internal audit. You can read more about our work and how we regulate on our website. The Finance Officer role is part of a small multi-disciplinary team which is led by the Business Manager and includes the Business Coordinator, the Finance Officer, the Communications Manager and the Communications Officer. The team is part of the Digital and Business Support Group.

As the Finance Officer you will have the lead role in delivering our day to day corporate finance function including preparing forecasts and finance to support budget preparations and budget monitoring. While you will regularly be expected to work independently you will be joining a small supportive team and you will additionally have access to technical guidance from an in-house accountant as well as access to advice from our shared services Finance Business Partner in the Scottish Government.

Qualifications Required
A finance qualification or experience gained from working in a similar finance role.

Essential Criteria
1 : Strong organisational skills, with a track record of delivery against deadlines in a finance role.
2 : Excellent standard of attention to detail and accuracy in preparing high quality finance and reporting information.
3 : Proficient in the use of ICT, in particular the use of finance and related systems.
4 : Ability to work without daily supervision.
