We are currently seeking applications for an IT Support Technician within Education Scotland based in Glasgow, Livingston, Aberdeen or Dundee. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

DDaT Pay Supplement
This post attracts a £4,000 DDaT pay supplement after a 9 months DDaT competency qualifying period. Pay supplements are temporary payments designed to address recruitment and retention issues caused by market pressures and are subject to regular review.

Overview
Education Scotland is Scotland's national improvement agency for education. Our role is to provide assurance and promote improvement, from the early years to adult learning. We are committed to embedding our values of excellence, creativity, integrity and respect in everything we do.

This role provides operational management and support of the IT support services to Education Scotland, providing IT induction, first and second line support to staff. A key focus for the role is implementing an effective Shared Service IT provision across Education Scotland.

Essential Criteria
1. Experience in ICT customer support dealing with problems and issues, managing resolutions, taking corrective action as well as the collection and dissemination of relevant information.
2. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to describe IT issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
3. Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise incidents and provide timely solutions.
4. Demonstrable analytical skills to be able to scrutinise issues and draw conclusions and include being proactive in responding to changes to business priorities.
